Tony Gemignani is a twelve-time World Pizza Champion, restaurateur, and the founder of the International School of Pizza in San Francisco. He owns multiple restaurants including Tony’s Pizza Napoletana, which has been recognized as one of the best pizzerias in the United States. Gemignani has spent more than two decades studying pizza traditions around the world, earning master certifications in multiple regional styles. His landmark cookbook The Pizza Bible (2014) is considered one of the most comprehensive pizza references ever published, covering nine regional styles with over seventy-five recipes. He followed it with The Pursuit of Pizza (2024), co-authored with fellow champions Laura Meyer and Mike Bausch. Gemignani brings a competitive champion’s precision to his writing, with exacting dough formulas and technique instructions that translate professional-level results to the home kitchen.
